WordCamp LA Slides 2016
I had the honor and pleasure of speaking at WordCamp Los Angeles 2016. It was a lot of fun and I got to speak on a topic that has been near and dear to me this year. Marketing automation.
It’s not the most intriguing talk you’ll watch and that goes for all my talks. Not some. All.
But running a small shop requires us to wear many hats and it requires us to get creative unless we want to lose ourselves in the shuffle. WordPress is a busy business space and there is a lot of work to go around at the moment. It’s important to stay on top of your sales pipeline.
Last year, I can’t tell you how many leads slipped through my fingers because I wasn’t staying on top of our conversations. One of my business goals for the year was to implement some form of CRM or get an assistant to help.
I started with an assistant, Sarah, and she was great. But she ultimately wanted to teach, so she wasn’t with me for more than half the year. But she did help me setup a simple automation system that nurtured sales leads and also revived long dead deals and dormant client conversations regarding maintenance work.
Having implemented an automated system for handling leads and onboarding clients/contractors has been a huge time saver and I think it’s worth looking into for your own business, too.
You can get my slides at this link here. No affiliate stuff, but it does require an email. No spam, just smarts. Promise.
Cheers!
