What makes someone a WordPress expert versus just a developer?
Depth and time on the platform. Anyone can install a theme; an expert knows why a plugin conflict is crashing your checkout, how the hook fires, and which of three fixes won’t break the next update. We’ve worked in WordPress and nothing but WordPress since 2010 — that’s the difference between knowing the tool and mastering it.
Can you fix a WordPress site another developer broke?
Yes — it’s a big part of what we do. Theme conflicts, plugin pileups, hosting weirdness, hacked or abandoned sites. We start with a systems review, find what’s actually wrong, and fix the cause instead of papering over the symptom.
Do you build custom WordPress themes and plugins?
Yes, and we build them natively — extending WordPress the way it’s designed to be extended, so updates don’t take you down. Custom themes, custom plugins, MemberPress and LearnDash work, WooCommerce, ActiveCampaign integrations, and the weird one-off builds other shops decline.
How many plugins do you use on your WordPress sites?
The quick answer? It depends. It depends on how complex your website is and what functionality you have. At this point, we have a preferred list of plugins we use for client projects and have rooted out consistent problem children plugins. Often, we’ll build custom plugins to provide small bits of functionality — not all plugins are created equal. We’ve built sites with 60+ plugins and some with as few as 9. It’s truly less about the number of plugins and more about their quality.
Is WordPress still a good choice in 2026?
For most businesses, yes — it runs over 40% of the web for good reasons: ownership, flexibility, and an ecosystem nothing else matches. The catch is that flexibility cuts both ways; done badly it’s fragile. Done by people who know it cold, it’s a platform you can build a business on. We’ll tell you straight if it’s the wrong fit for you.
