I've been guessing. Help me out?
Hey there,
Confession: I pick what goes in this newsletter by guessing. Whatever I'm fighting with that week, a plugin update, an AI tool, a client site that decided to break on a Friday, ends up in your inbox.
Sometimes that's useful to you. Sometimes it's me thinking out loud at you.
So I'd rather just ask. Last week I asked the folks from our Claude meetup what they want next, and the answers were way better than my guesses. Your turn!
A few questions
Answer one, answer all, answer in a single sentence. Just hit reply. A real person reads every one (me).
- What's eating the most time on your website or marketing right now?
- What do you want more of from us? WordPress and site care, SEO and showing up in AI search (ChatGPT, Google's AI answers), AI tools for running a small business, memberships, courses and stores, or something I haven't thought of?
- How do you like to get it? A short email, a how-to post, a quick video walkthrough, or a live session where you can ask questions?
- How often is too often? Weekly, every couple of weeks, monthly, or only when it's actually good?
- Where are you with AI in your business? Not touching it, poking at ChatGPT now and then, using it every week, or you've built something with it?
- If we could fix one thing for you this year, what would it be?
Not a reply-all kind of person? Answer in a 2-minute form instead. It asks the same things, one at a time.
One thing worth stealing in the meantime
Folks keep asking me if it's OK to let AI answer business email. My take: AI drafts, you hit send. Keep a person on anything that involves money, a promise, or an upset customer, because the AI will cheerfully promise a refund you never offered. (Not legal advice. I build websites.)
If something in your answers sounds like a bigger project, I'll tell you, and if you want help we can talk. If it doesn't, you still get a better newsletter. Win either way.
Thanks for reading this far,
Alex
